Der "neue" große Mitspieler im DLP-Markt, Planar, setzt sein umfassendes Heimkino-Lineup fort: Mit gleich drei Modellen bekommt die FullHD-DLP (1920x1080) Gemeinde Zuwachs. LCD und LCOS bekommen endlich ernsthafte Konkurrenz: Die Rede ist von den Modellen PD8120, PD8130 und PD8150.

Das Einstiegsmodell dieses neuen Line-Ups ist der PD8120, dessen technischen Eckdaten bereits eine beeindruckende Leistung erwarten lassen.


Besonders lobenswert ist die Tatsache, dass Planar die derzeitigen Kundenwünsche in Sachen Helligkeit, Kontrast und Aufstellungsflexibilität anscheinend ernst genommen hat: Mit 1200 Lumen und einem Kontrastverhältnis von 5000:1 verspricht der 8120, Helligkeit mit DLP-typischer Bildtiefe zu verbinden. Für die notwendinge Bildschärfe bei herkömmlichem SD-Material sorgt zudem der Scalerchip schlechthin, ein Silicon Optix HQV, wie er sich in letzter Zeit besonders im Mitsubishi HC5000 bereits bewährt hat. Zu diesen leistungsäfhigen Bildaspekten gesellt sich ein Lensshift von +120%/-80%.

 

Wer noch mehr Leistung wünscht, der hat die Auswahl zwischen den beiden großen Brüdern 8130 und 8150. Sie fallen bereits optisch edel mit schwarzem Klavierlack als High-End Produkte auf.


Doch nicht nur das Äußere, auch bei der Bildqualität werden noch weitere Qualitätssprünge versprochen. So sind die beiden Modelle mit 10000:1 (PD8130) und 15000:1 (PD8150) Kontrastverhältnis wahre Plastizitätswunder, die es so bisher noch nicht am DLP-Markt gegeben hat. Sollten sich diese Werksangaben bestätigen, könnte die LCD-Konkurrenz in Sachen Bildtiefe ernsthafte Konkurrenz bekommen.


Auch die Signalverarbeitung ist mit Gennum VXP-Processing auf Studioniveau und sollte Referenz-Leistung erreichen. Zwei HDMI1.3 Eingänge sorgen für die zukunftsichere Signalkompatibilität. Durch motorisiertem Lens-Shift und zwei verschiedenen Optikvarianten sollte auch die Aufstellung in jedem Raum möglich sein.

Wir freuen uns auf baldige Tests dieser DLP-Projektoren neuester Generation, die wir, sobald erste Testgeräte zur Verfügung stehen, durchführen und veröffentlichen werden. Es wird Zeit, dass sich die bewährte DLP-Technik zurück meldet und der immer stärker werdenden LCD- und LCOS Technologie Paroli bietet. Konkurrenz belebt das Geschäft, wirkt sich positiv auf die Qualität aus und sorgt für günstige Preise... 2007 wird eines der interessantesten Jahre in der Geschiche des Heimkinos...
